Zojirushi began in Osaka in 1918 with glass-lined vacuum insulation technology. More than a century later, the same focus on heat retention, practical design and everyday reliability remains central to the brand. The company began producing vacuum bottles commercially in 1923, adopted the elephant as its trademark and introduced Japan’s first automated production equipment for glass vacuum-bottle liners in 1963.
The name itself reflects that identity: zo means elephant in Japanese. The elephant was chosen to represent strength, intelligence and familiarity—qualities that still fit the products well today.
Why We Built Zojirushi.ie
Zojirushi.ie was created to give the brand a proper specialist home in Ireland.
We did not want Zojirushi bottles and food jars to sit unnoticed among thousands of unrelated products. The range needed its own website where customers could compare capacities, lids, dimensions, colours and intended uses.
