SKIF Defender II BSW – Next Generation Workhorse Knife
The SKIF Defender II is the next generation of one of the most proven models from the 400 series. The concept remains unchanged — a true workhorse knife designed for everyday tasks, while also performing reliably in outdoor use such as fishing, camping, and general utility.
The blade is made from upgraded 9Cr18MoV stainless steel, with higher carbon and chromium content compared to its predecessor (8Cr13MoV). This results in improved hardness, better edge retention, and enhanced corrosion resistance.
The blade geometry combines a Drop Point profile with a subtle S-shaped cutting edge. This provides extended cutting performance while maintaining a strong tip for effective piercing. The Black Stonewash (BSW) finish helps hide scratches and wear, making the knife ideal for regular use.
Deployment is fast and smooth thanks to the ball-bearing pivot system. The knife opens via flipper, which also acts as a finger guard, and can additionally be opened using the thumb hole.
The knife features a robust Frame Lock, one of the most reliable locking systems in folding knives. The new generation includes enhanced jimping on the spine, handle, flipper, and lock bar for improved grip and control.
The handle is made from G-10, ensuring a secure grip even in wet conditions or when wearing gloves. A removable pocket clip and lanyard hole provide flexible carry options.
Overall, the Defender II is a refined, durable upgrade of a proven classic — built for real use.
